We are affiliated to:
Bowls England & Bowls Devon
The club have 2 teams (A&B) in the Mid Devon League (MDL)
South Devon Ladies Bowls League (SDLBL)
Men’s Over 55’s Triples League
The club also has 2 teams (1&2) in the Riviera Mixed Triples League (RMTL). This enables new and inexperienced players to have a ‘taster’ of playing in a league match
In 1938, Brixham Council bought two fields near St Mary’s Church for £1,160 to provide tennis courts, a football pitch, a bowling green and other leisure facilities for the local community. *St. Mary’s Park with its new bowling green opened on 1st June 1940.
Over the years St Mary’s Bowling Club has evolved into an organisation known for drawing the best from people, both as bowlers and members of the club.
Our membership has all but doubled over the past few years as we have developed our recruitment and coaching programmes. We have an all-year programme of events that keeps people involved both socially and as active players. We host county matches, and our own invitation and charity pair’s competitions.
On a more practical note, car parking is free and the clubhouse has wheelchair access.
Throughout the season we have a series of flagship events which help raise money for the Club and local charities.
